Some Actual Stereotyping
Flavorwire posted an interesting article which stereotyped people by their music tastes. We are all guilty of doing this at some point or another but it can be a fun little exercise in perception. It was impossible not to contribute some of my own for obvious reasons. If you don't get it, refer to the title banner on this blog and the tag below it. The original article can be found here and I encourage you to leave a few of your own in the comments. Here are a few that I came up with:
MGMT
People who like synthesizers yet Of Montreal scares them
The Decemberists
18th century literature and a thesaurus are next to your gramophone
Modest Mouse
You think an existential crisis goes well with music
Broken Social Scene
Sexually frustrated adolescents
The Hold Steady
Music and beer are synonymous
Explosions in the Sky
You have trouble putting your feelings into words
Girl Talk
You won’t admit you like pop music until it’s all mashed together
Mastodon
The metal band whose name you drop when your friends say you listen to music for pussies
Sunn O)))
Mastodon was not an obscure enough band to impress your metal friends
Boris
Sunn O))) didn’t make you seem cool enough since they are American
